Every job in your research stack, in one platform.
Most teams run a tool per method and stitch the exports into one deck. Here is each job, the tool you probably run it on today, and the Stroop method that runs it in the same study as the rest.

| The job | The tool you use today | The Stroop method |
|---|---|---|
| Moderated interviews | Zoom or Teams, a booking tool, a transcription service | Moderated sessions with booking, a back room for observers and transcripts |
| Prototype and website tests | UserTesting, Maze or Lyssna | Unmoderated tests on Figma files, code builds and websites, recorded and transcribed |
| Tree tests and card sorts | Optimal Workshop | Tree tests, card sorts and first-click tests, with pietrees and similarity matrices |
| Surveys, SUS and NPS | SurveyMonkey or Google Forms | Surveys with logic and scored standard instruments |
| Diary studies | dscout, or a messaging app and a spreadsheet | A diary participants install from a link, entries transcribed and tagged |
| IATs and reaction time | Gorilla or Inquisit | IATs, go/no-go and priming, scored with the published algorithm |
| Analysis and the client deck | A repository tool, spreadsheets and slides | Cited findings, themes, reels and a share page in your brand |
Six comparisons, their strengths first.
Each page opens with who should choose the other tool, then the differences that decide it and a full table with their wins marked. Facts from their own websites, checked 17 October 2026.
- Stroop vs UserTesting
UserTesting is the enterprise choice for recruited participants and an account team. Stroop puts the whole research plan in one study and cites every finding.
- Stroop vs Maze
Maze is built for product teams testing Figma prototypes at scale. Stroop puts the moderated round, the diary and the IAT in the same study, and cites every finding.
- Stroop vs Lyssna
Lyssna is honest and good. Stroop fits when the work includes moderated rounds with observers, diaries or IATs, and clients who open findings in your brand.
- Stroop vs dscout
dscout bundles a panel, AI moderation and project services. Stroop runs the diary in the same study as your usability, IA and implicit work, and you run it yourself.
- Stroop vs Optimal Workshop
Optimal Workshop set the standard for IA research. Stroop computes the same outputs and puts the tree test in the same study as the interviews and the usability round.
- Stroop vs Gorilla
Gorilla is the behavioural scientist's builder for new paradigms. Stroop runs the routine IAT, scored for you, in the same study as your usability and diary work.
Rolling your own works until the clips are due.
Zoom records, Calendly books, SurveyMonkey asks and a transcription service types. Then someone downloads, renames and cuts the clips, and pastes quotes into a deck that nobody can trace back to a session.
In Stroop the moderated round books from a page in your brand, records after consent and arrives transcribed. The theme it ends in counts who said it and cites the second each of them said it.
Questions
Can I keep a specialist tool for one method?
- Yes. Plenty of teams keep Optimal Workshop for tree tests or Gorilla for a custom paradigm and run the rest here. Each method on Stroop is billed only while a study using it is live, so nothing you don't run costs anything.
Do you recruit participants?
- No. You invite your own (your customers, a client's users, a recruiter's list) or point a panel such as Prolific at the study link, and pay them directly. If you need people found for you, UserTesting, Maze and Lyssna run panels.
Where do the competitor facts come from?
- From each company's own website: its pricing, plans and feature pages, checked 17 October 2026. Where a company publishes no price, the comparison says "Quote only". Third-party estimates never appear.
What is Stroop?
- Stroop is the all-in-one research and testing platform. Run usability tests, prototypes, surveys, tree tests, diaries and IATs in one study, and get results back transcribed, scored and charted, with every finding linked to the session it came from. The first 30 study-days are free, with no card.
