Stroop vs Lyssna[1]
Lyssna is honest and good. Stroop fits when the work includes moderated rounds with observers, diaries or IATs, and clients who open findings in your brand.
30 study-days free. No card.

Who should choose Lyssna
- You run mostly quick unmoderated tests and want a panel on tap. Stay with Lyssna: it publishes its prices, means them, and its quick studies are unlimited on every plan.
- A flat monthly price suits you better than a day rate. Growth is $166 a month billed annually, or $199 billed monthly, and you always know the number.
- You need SOC 2 or SSO now. Lyssna offers both on Enterprise. We don't have either yet.
If that describes your team, choose Lyssna. The rest of this page is for the teams it doesn't describe.
Interviews, diaries and IATs, with your client watching.
Diaries and IATs in the same study as the interviews
Lyssna runs unmoderated tests, moderated interviews and surveys. Stroop adds diary studies and scored IATs, so a two-week diary and a brand IAT can run on the same participants as the interview round, and observers watch every session free.
Every recorded study can be in the field at once
Lyssna Growth includes 5 in-depth studies a month. Stroop has no cap: three client rounds and a diary can all be live together, each in its own client workspace.

Switching takes a weekend.
- Participant lists come across as CSV or XLSX. Map the columns once and each person lands in the right workspace with their attributes.
- Quick tests can stay where they are. Plenty of teams will run tree tests on Lyssna and the recorded rounds here, and that's a sensible split.
- Your Lyssna results stay with Lyssna unless you export them. We don't import them.
Questions
Can clients watch sessions without a seat?
- Yes. Invite them as guests to a workspace or send an observer link for one session. They watch from a separate back room with notes, and the participant never sees them. Guests, viewers and observers are unlimited and free on every plan. Lyssna lists observer rooms on Enterprise.
Does Stroop have a participant panel like Lyssna's?
- No. Lyssna's 690,000+ panel is a real reason to choose it. In Stroop you invite your own participants (a client's customers, your lists, a recruiter) or point a panel such as Prolific at the study link and pay them directly.
Is Stroop cheaper than Lyssna?
- It depends on the month. With up to three week-long recorded studies live, Stroop costs $189 against Growth's $199 monthly price; four cost $252, which is more. Above five, Growth runs out and Stroop has no cap. For mostly quick tests, Lyssna's unlimited quick studies are better value.
What is Stroop?
- Stroop is the all-in-one research and testing platform. Run usability tests, prototypes, surveys, tree tests, diaries and IATs in one study, and get results back transcribed, scored and charted, with every finding linked to the session it came from. The first 30 study-days are free, with no card.
