Refunds and cancellation

Monthly, cancel any time. If you paid for days you didn't use, ask within 14 days and you'll get that money back.

Last updated 17 October 2026.

Stroop is the all-in-one research and testing platform. Run usability tests, prototypes, surveys, tree tests, diaries and IATs in one study, and get results back transcribed, scored and charted, with every finding linked to the session it came from. It's operated by Never Before Seen Ventures Limited.

Cancelling

There's no contract and no notice period. An owner can stop billing at any time: every live study closes or pauses, and no further fees are charged, because nothing is open. You'll get a final invoice for the days already used that month. Your data stays for as long as each study's retention setting says, so you can still export it.

Refunds

Unused prepaid days are refundable within 14 days of the charge. Two charges can include days you haven't used yet:

  • The 7-day minimum, charged when a paid study first goes live. If you close the study early, the days left can be refunded, or kept for 90 days in case you reopen it.
  • The $79 monthly fee, which is credited against that month's usage. If a month's fee covered nothing you used, it can be refunded.

Days a study was open to participants have been used, so they aren't refundable. Free study-days were never charged, so there's nothing to refund.

How to ask

Email [email protected] from an owner's address with the invoice number (it starts STR-) and what you'd like refunded. A person reads it. Refunds go back to the card or account that paid, through Stripe, and the invoice shows them.

VAT

Stroop is sold to businesses. Prices on the pricing page are in US dollars and exclude VAT. UK customers pay UK VAT at the standard rate. Businesses outside the UK with a valid VAT number are reverse-charged, and the invoice says so. Otherwise VAT is added at the rate that applies.
